A truly transcendent action

Our mission: to provide the integration and participation of parents, teachers, students and community leaders to elevate the quality of education and promote community development as means to create a social transformation.

Our vision: to become an example of intervention that results in parents and students becoming protagonists of social change in their community starting with school, allowing for the creation of communities integrated in their own development.

Objetivos

One

We get teachers, parents and community leaders to create a diagnosis, work plan and projects for social development and school infrastructure.

Two

A social participation school council with management capacity before public authorities and the ability to question the planning process that has been learned.

Three

Parents and teachers with the ability to detect risk behaviors in minors and channel them to aid institutions.

Four

We obtain the approval and support for infrastructure and equipment projects through different government programs.

Five

We connect schools with their communities, achieving great progress in integration and strengthening of the social fabric.

Six

In a self-managing manner, some of our schools have negotiated with the government the street paving; the transformation of graffiti to local gang painted murals; the acquisition of benches and chairs; the creation of cleaning campaigns; implementing the school for parents and obtaining paint for their schools, among other things.

How do we do it?

Teachers, parents and community leaders create a diagnosis, work plan and projects for social development and school infrastructure.

We connect different schools with their communities, achieving great progress in integration and strengthening of the social fabric.

To consolidate the application of the skills and expertise acquired by the school, Escuela en Comunidad makes a bi-monthly counselling for a year and a half starting from the closing of the implementation of the program at the school.

Founding teachers and parents with the ability to detect risk behaviors in minors and channel them to aid institutions.

The Escuela en Comunidad model is reinforced fully through mentoring sessions in each stage. This way we consolidate every learned skill and the continuing of their own projects with a close follow-up.

We implement new learning techniques to elevate the quality of education, children’s interest in knowledge and the interest to continue with their studies.

Escuela en Comunidad supports with economic resources so that along with existing government programs they solve their most pressing infrastructure needs, therefore multiplying their resources.
